Knowing

Nicholas Cage's best film since National Treasure. A story of a MIT astrophysicist decyphering a coded letter that was in a time capsule for 50 years. The letter told of the events that were going to happen by the day and the amount of dead people. Cage's son along with the daughter of the original code writer are relentlessly spoken to give them incite into what is really happening. After Cage realizes he can not change the course of these cataclysmic events, he does his best to protect his son, all while preparing for the last final event that will change the world forever.
This movie was really great. Not only for the action, but for the premise. The controversy of free will and predestination is dealt with throughout the movie. In my opinion, I think that it's a little of both (predestined with a free will). On a side note, I was also glad to see that they killed off a certain someone who was annoying me in the movie. The typical character that just messes up everyone's plans, continually cries and whimpers and wont believe what is going on after endless amounts of evidence....hopefully you will be as pleased by this as I was.

My elementary grading scale: Exceeding Expectations
1-10: 8.5
