Brief Intermission

After returning home from Germany, I have taken a brief timeout from movie watching and reviews while I catch back up to the "REAL WORLD" and getting used to a normal schedule of the day-to-day...... Thanks for your patience and I will be back on the movie grind shortly.

A Haunting in Connecticut

The perfect storm of scariness. Something about people being possessed has always scared me more than any other route that writers take to scare their viewers. Plus, since it was BASED on a true story, it gives it that extra "something" that makes this movie a true terror.
After the oldest son of a family is diagnosed with cancer, the family makes a last minute, immediate decision to relocate to become closer to their hospital...in Connecticut (hence, the name). While on medical trials, his visions of horrible happenings in his house are dismissed for side-effects of his trial drugs. Unfortunately, the drugs were not the culprit of his horrid, eerie visions of the house, that once was used as a mortuary, and all that lived inside. A barrage of some of the scariest imagery follows throughout the movie to totally make you keep the lights on all night after the movie.
I guess demons are pretty smart, they are always sure to pick the one person to possess that will ensure that they can continue doing their dastardly deeds while the others blame a plausible reason for the "sickness". I definitely think that if you are faint of heart, you should skip this movie, but to all others, this movie is definitely going to be a classic in the years to come.
